Brand identity and logo design for Stephen's Story, a charitable foundation set up in the memory of Stephen Sutton.
Inspiration for the design of the logo symbol came from Stephen's 'thumbs up' campaign in early 2014, which went viral on social media globally. It was important for the logo to represent Stephen and his achievements, so an outline was created using Stephen's own "thumbs up" gesture from one of his photographs.
The typography used for the logotype suggests that it was handwritten or sketched. This was used to reflect the 'Story' aspect and the journey Stephen embraced to help and inspire others.
The colour palette was a no brainer. Yellow is Stephen's colour. It was represented most in his final weeks with displays of yellow ribbons, flowers and banners.
